My Story

Let me guess. Youāre stuck. Youāre ambitious, talented, and hard-working, but the career youāre in? Itās just not giving what it needs to give. Been there.
Once upon a time, I was in shoes quite similar to yours, working a stable but uninspiring job while daydreaming of something more, having maxed out my earning potential at $48K a year. Yuck.
I knew I was meant for more, and I wanted to work in tech, but the path forward wasnāt clear.
I was scrambling. Trying to convince myself that I wanted to be a developer (not me at all), and looking at master's degrees to try to become the person I thought I needed to be.
Thankfully, allĀ of that nonsense came to a screeching halt when a chance connection opened my eyes to the real opportunities in the tech world.
Ones were being an engineer was just a part ofĀ a much bigger picture.Ā
Fast forward to today: Iāve tripled my salary, found joy in my work, and built a life Iām proud of...all without forcing something I didn't want.
Now, Iām on a mission to help you do the same.
Why I Created This
I created Skilled Ambition for the ambitiousĀ but stuck woman.
The one whoās ready to ditch the under-valued grind, pivot into a career she loves, and finally earn what sheās worth.
Unlike other career platforms, Skilled Ambition is unapologetically focused on underrepresented, non-technical women in tech (or those pivoting into the industry).
I was called to create the resource I wish I had when making my own transition, and even as I continued to grow my career in tech as a woman of color.Ā
There are no coding bootcamps here, no overwhelming tech jargon.
